could you do a "test" and a "highquality" mode, then? xD (just an idea)

Hi Cpfresh,

Thanks for your reply!
I have download your skp file for test, but still no luck.
There is an error message stated :-
"IndigoDriverExcep; SceneLoaderExcep: ModelLoadingStreamHandlerExcep: UV set with index 0 was exposed, but the UV set data was not provided. (In element 'mesh', around line 6, column 9)"

Hey OscarLok,

The problem lies with the IGS file. Just go thru and look for any extra uv set exposures. The extras will cause this error, once they are removed it should be smooth sailing. This issue should be fixed with the next SkIndigo update.

May I know where is the IGS file(any file name?) located, please?

Thanks
Oscar

So, here is the same skp file/same texture/same settings as the one I got to work in the previous post, but just applied to a small wall-no curves-normals out, with vastly different results.

I also tried changing some of the settings but I always ended up with this crazy blob.

I'll keep trying these to see if we can get some sort of default value.
That would be sweet because the quality and promise of this is soo great.

Did you turn mesh smoothing off?
Also, when subdividing a mesh, it helps a huge deal if your mesh has roughly square polys. Long elongated quads and triangles are bad and will always cause poor displacement.

Hmmm, I guess the polys are square, not sure how Sketchup does that. the material and dis.map are square.

I turned off subdiv smoothing and got this-

yeah, the blob is pretty cool looking :D

too bad it's supposed to be a rectangle.

maybe this is how blob-architecture got started.....

Are you sure the subdiv smoothing is off? Cause it looks exactly like it still has smoothing on

Yes it does, but I turned it off, at least in the Skindigo gui.
