Sketchup + Indigo with Wine? Anyone?

Post by Camara » Wed Apr 23, 2008 7:08 am

I'm trying to get of working in windows, but one of the thing that is making me hold on to Dual boot Windows/Ubuntu is Sketchup and Skindigo.
My question is, did anyone try and get it to work? I can't even make SU to work well in Wine, even less Skindigo.

Thanks for the help! :D

I still very new to linux, so i solved the problem with this tutorial.

http://news.softpedia.com/news/Unite-Wi ... 8535.shtml

This way i don't need to exit ubuntu and go to windows to use SU and Skindigo.

But i´m still waiting for a linux version of SU. :(

Currently working great with SU in Ubuntu.
Quite a lot off information @ the WINEHQ Application site on installing

http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... n&iId=6842

With running Indigo you must first change the line endings in the .rb file from windows to linux :

tr -d '\r' < inputfile > outputfile

It still crashes if you try to open directly out of SU but if you just export scene and open it through Indigo it works like a charm! :D

Camara,
Attached file that I use.
The "tr -d '\r' < inputfile > outputfile " is used in the commnandline to change the line endings.
Open console
change to directory where file is located and then use the tr -d'\r' to make the changes.

I'm also using the windows version of Indigo, can't seem to get the linux version to work  Also new and still learning!

(As i explained earlier Sketchup still crashes on my PC when launching directly, rather export the scene and open through Indigo.
Plugings -> Skindigo -> export scene)

HTH!

Well,...not everything. My material editor looks weird and i can't change nothing. Any idea?

But, I read this:

and i got most of my plug ins to work. I'm happy!!! :D
