nah, not intending to be plastic and no sss -- i tried that at first inorder to get a little sun thru the cup, but it was always coming out black and shiny??? so then i tried a diffuse transmitter and had moderate success ... except it doesnt look like paper :S i guess it needs a little bump or something ... maybe some fuzz.
thanks for the comment!

hey Whaat, thanks for the comment! The leaves are set as one of the default material settings from SkIndigo ... leather! is this a good idea? .. or even remotely accurate??? i dunno! but I like it!
on a side note, if anyone is interested in getting an xfrog tree model, they are offering a sample download of their 'sweet birch' tree which is used in this scene.

Hi crojack! Nice pins you have here!!! REALLY REALLY REALLY realistic! very interested in the mat settings, camera parameters (camera or reinhard?). The post it on the foreground are lovely too. The thing i don't understand is what's the white plastic thing standing on the right side of the glass..It seems not to be fixed anywhere!
Oh, and what's the material the base plane is made of? Settings settings settings!

Hi Pibuz-
thanks!
the white thing, in a larger version, there is a screw/clamp that holds it on, it is a lamp. and is the only light source.
camera is reinhard, the tacks have SSS/glossy transparent. this started as just a way to learn SSS settings, hadn't used it before. turns out you want really high numbers for something like these. the desk is jsut a download from Formfonts with the material applied to it that was on it, same mat used as bump and same mat used as exponent. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but was only really looking at the sss on the tacks. the SSS on the coffee cup lid worked out pretty nice also I think.
it seems the less I do to a scene the better it turns out. I don't know if that is good or bad
thanks!
