How to resolved the 'fireflies' problem, im headache!

Post by williamhhf » Wed Jan 11, 2012 2:38 pm

I using the Bidirectional PT method, with glass acceleration, SSF 3, MNCR 1000, but i still do have a lot of fireflies! Please help me!THX ! Im using 2.6.1

I did not set any sub divison, UV mapping, SSS, Exit portal etc

Is that any wrong about this rendering?

At a quick glance you could try SSF 4,5,6 or let it render longer, the fireflies might clean up into caustics.

Hi William!
..actually, I don't see any fireflies!
Maybe your corrected image can't show them clearly. Can you post the original image?

BTW, your maximum supersample is set to 3 inside SkIndigo, isn't it? You can always open your *.igs exported file and look for the parameter <super_sample_factor> and change the value manually.

I'd probably try Bidir MLT with this type of scene. Should be less fireflies and quicker convergence for caustics. Make sure you have GPU disabled or else Indigo will force simple path tracing.

As other said, MLT will help, and by the way, MNCR has no effect with PT, only with MLT.
