I'm not questioning about the design: when I export it as an external mesh Indigo freezes and then reports an error :D

that thing is a mess.. i can't even import the .3ds into sketchup and then export to indigo without it crashing.. maybe a bug but i dunno..

i redrew it in rhino..a quick redraw but it should do the job.. drew it at a more proper scale as well.. then exported as .3ds if you need it..
[needs mat0, mat1, mat2, & mat3 added as sketchup materials — the bulb, the shade, and the fixture are separated]

the .3ds you provided had only a single surface for the lamp shade.. that's how this one is as well but i have a version with a solid lampshade if you need it.

Thanks a lot Jeff!!!!
I'd love to have the thick material version too, just to test some SSS.

IF IT'S NOT TOO MUCH TROUBLE I'M ASKING YOU, of course!

Thanks again!

[i remembered to purge this time :) ..no need for mat3.. ]
mat0 will be for the lamp shade..
mat1 = fixture
mat2 = light bulb

Little bug one of my students is experiencing: when specified an exported scene name, Indigo opens and loads it, but then freezes and crashes ("the application has stopped running".., not some C++ error)

Happens only with explicit export name: default.igs wont' cause any problems.

She is running Indigo 3.2.2 free, Skindigo 3.2.2 on Vista 32bits.

Hi Whaat.
I have to report another bug: I am working with a VERY complex scene (with a significant amount of instanced trees and other stuff too): sometimes after export I get the error message that Indigo couldn't find one of the maps of a specific material (the plaster diffuse texture, to be more precise); sometimes, instead, the export process goes just fine and the render starts with no problems.
I usually re-export the scene to get rid of the error: quick export won't fix it (tested).

Clearly, I don't know what can cause the problem, but it definitely is :lol:

Let me know if you can spot and/or solve it!

Another small bug: if I launch the rendering, the actions taken into the SU models are reset, so your ctrl+z won't produce any changes back.

I think that it is not a bug, skindigo works like other sketchup command (draw line, rotate...) and so ctrl+z don't works as you expect.

imho

Ono said this could be a SkIndigo issue, so:

(black triangles: they go away if I explode components. Model attached in the liked post)

Hi Pibuz,

You need to hit ctrl+z multiple times to undo past changes because launching a render adds some operations to the undo 'stack'.
