Thank you for your quick response. I measured the model and it is over 1m in height.
I used artisan for subdivision and smoothing, so I think there should be no problem regarding the geometry?! (I didn't have such problems in the past)

I hve done another test with a simple geometry: a cube (1m;1m;1m) with round corners (5cm, 6 sides) and a max subdivision of 1... Nice picture, but have nothing to do with the expected result :?

If you are not a mac user I think Whaat may have fixed this issue in SI 3.2.2, I can't tell any better.

Good point, I was zooming out looking for the "unit" axes (I thought) to show their ends... lol. Next time I'll measure the object, thank you for the tip !

If I make a group out of the cube, set max subdivisions to 10 while editing the group, this happens...

max subdivisions: 2
left: indigo lauched from outside the group
right: indigo lauched from inside the group
Is this only happen to me? ...

Hi cotty,

This might have something to do with a recent bug that was discovered in Indigo (improper loading of IGMESH normals). The bug will be fixed in the next release.

We'll have to wait until Indigo 3.2.6 is released to see if your problem has also been fixed.

I tried the same steps with another computer (Indigo 3.2.3 and 3.2.5). The holes are gone, but the mesh isn't correct, too. I hope, the next version will fix this problems...

I'm not shure about the new workflow. I have tried the following with the attached result. In which way do I have to change these steps?

- render without subdivision (faceted)
- group blue material
- edit group and edit mesh properties (right click menu)
- subdivision = 6
- render -> mesh distorted?

Tried it here... looks like the mesh gets all messed up where the geometry gets really really close together. Same as it does with long triangles (almost parallel). In this case the lines are parallel and they are super close.

I never noticed this behaviour in the past and I did a lot of renderings this way. What have changed in the background and what can I do to avoid this?

(The small geometries are ~1,4mm, I think this was not too small in the past?!)

cotty,

There have been some bugs fixed since 3.0.15.

Are you still using 3.0.15 or the latest beta?

I tested on (skindigo) 3.2.5 and the newest build of Indigo (3.2.8 ). Still there.
