Re: sketchup 8 and indigo exporter
I installed Sketchup 8, and installed Skindigo 2.4.8 using the Windows Installer and the basic template scene started rendering right away.
If it's completely stable or not with this version I can't tell (I'm not a Sketchup user myself) but at least it's partially working.
Pay attention though if you do try to install the skindigo plugin the default path (or at least for me) for installation was the Google Sketchup 7, so you'll have to substitute the 7 by an 8 for it to install properly.

Re: sketchup 8 and indigo exporter
I can confirm what Borgleader has said. I am not having any issues but I'll admit I don't use most of the options and settings all the time so I have no idea if some things aren't working. Personally, though, I've no issues.

Re: sketchup 8 and indigo exporter
I believe SkIndigo works fine with SU8. However, I have to update the installer so it will find the correct installation path.
Re: sketchup 8 and indigo exporter
I'm a newbie and maybe some kind of noob, but here's my problem. When i press the "Render with Indigo" button in SketchUp, nothing happens. And there is following error in the ruby console:
I'm using SU8 & Indigo 2.4.8. Thanks for help.
Code: Select all
Error: #<Errno::ENOENT: No such file or directory - C:\Users\Maśo\AppData\Roaming/Indigo Renderer>

Re: sketchup 8 and indigo exporter
Whoops. It's SkIndigo 2.4.8 and Indigo 2.2.12 for Windows 64-bit.
But according to the Ruby Console, the problem isn't in different versions, or is it?

Re: sketchup 8 and indigo exporter
Well according to the post for Skindigo 2.4.8
So either install Skindigo 2.2.12 or install indigo 2.4.8 (or more recent)You must have Indigo 2.4.8 or greater installed for it to work.

Re: sketchup 8 and indigo exporter
So I tried both combinations: SkIndigo 2.2.12 + Indigo x64 2.2.12 and SkIndigo 2.4.8 + Indigo x64 2.4.12, but the problem still remains. There is still this error in the Ruby Console:
I think the first line is causing the problem. But the Folder "Indigo Renderer" is in that location. In the path, there is "...\Roaming/..." - isn't that weird? I mean, why different symbols - slash & backslash?
For addition, I'm using SU8 Pro and Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
In Sketchup7 is everything working fine.
Code: Select all

This is a weird problem. Can you help me solve it?
In SketchUp, open the Ruby Console window and type the following:
Code: Select all
ENV['APPDATA']
It should give you a directory:
Code: Select all
C:\Users\Maśo\AppData\Roaming
If it DOES exist, I suspect that there is some issue causes with the ś in your user name. Try logging in as a different user with a username made up of english characters only to see if it works.
Please let me know your findings.
Thanks!
Re: sketchup 8 and indigo exporter
After i've put "ENV['APPDATA']" in the Ruby Console, this was the response:
in SketchUp 8,
and this:
in SketchUp 7.
So it seems that the username is the problem (some wrong symbol-coding in SU8?), originally it's Maťo, not Maśo. Interesting, I never experienced any problem with this so far, and I use Windows 7 for half a year.
I'll change the username and that's it (I hope so).
Thank you, Whaat!

Re: sketchup 8 and indigo exporter
On Guest account it worked well. But, I found out, that it isn't that easy to change the Windows username.
I wonder why the SkIndigo works in SU7, but not in SU8 (the same version). Can somebody give me another advice, or should I just stay at SU7?
Thanks.

Re: sketchup 8 and indigo exporter
SU8 uses an upgraded Ruby interpreter from SU7. However, I wouldn't think that an upgraded version of Ruby would create a problem like this. Strange...munkey wrote:On Guest account it worked well. But, I found out, that it isn't that easy to change the Windows username.

Re: sketchup 8 and indigo exporter
So higher version of SkIndigo also won't work (with that username). Am I right?
And Whaat, please, is there any chance to avoid the problem through SketchUp registry? It's really complicated to change Windows username.
Thanks for response.
