Any changes?

Post by Fluckrat » Sat Apr 07, 2007 12:41 am

Hi, I was just wondering if there had been any progress with the XSI exporter. Or perhaps any movement in integrating it into XSI with the new rendering api?

Been very quiet here for a long time....

All the best!

It is my first post indeed, but I just popped in and noticed that the XSI forum seems more or less stillborn.... I also remember there being mention of a possibility of actually integrating the renderer rather than having an exporter since the changes made in XSI since v6... Was just curious to hear if this was indeed the case.

So are you an XSI user or were you just passing by? :P

You still need Exporters, but they're getting much better and simpler ;)

Which App are you using?

Sorry, I don't really know, what XSI is
Api is heavily discussed, but not yet implented ;)

Hi Fluckrat,

nice to c someone interested in XSI integration. At the moment there's no imminent plans to integrate Indigo into XSI rendering SDK due to the fact Indigo doesn't expose any api calls. In the future i hope to release a better integration with Indigo 0.7 when it'll be released as stable version.

For more infos please contact me to riccardogigante-at-hotmail.com

Best regards, Riccardo.

actually the new rendering api can be used with indigo, just it wont be interactive, it will have to use the archiving features. there is more to the rendering api than just viewing the image inside xsi. it presents the relevant data to you more easily, you do less scene traversing, instead xsi gives you a context object with objects, materials, lights, camera, render options etc.

so we can still have an exporter that uses the new v6 api...
