measurement units in cinema

Post by jarmenkell » Sun Jul 18, 2010 8:16 pm

i know that question sounds stupid but still... i'm totally confused(
what measurement units should i have in Cinema and in Cindigo?
if i have millimeters in both of them (more proper from the real-world modelling, i suppose), will it be fine?
or should i use the default meters?

(what confuses me most that when i use meters i end to have glasses of water e.g. 88meters hig - that's not good, i think=)

You can model in very scale you want to.
Important is the scene scale factor in the Indigo render settings! So if you model a box which is 200x200x200 c4d-units big, and you intented it being 200 cm large, you simply set your scene scale factor to cm.
Same in mm, m, km.

Feel free with that, but you should always keep realistic proportions in mind, otherwise some materials could cause massive trouble.
Cheers, David

yeah, i've already noticed that, when made a glass table)) it ended up being 4 meter thick, which made it almost absolutely non-transparent
