Actual exporter for the mac-people!

Hi, several weeks have passed again and nothing happened at the mac-front.
Fused, you promised us a release "within the next 2 weeks", this was in june (1.1.4).

Can we ever, ever, ever expect something for the mac?

What are the difficulties, is it just because of the (understandable, but solveable) fact that you don't want to hand out the sourcecode?
The thing is, I am worrying that even a donation wouldn't change your mind, please please correct me if I'm wrong.

And please let us all know what might change your mind and bring cindigo to the mac.

We want Cindigo, and we want to help you.

I dont understand you zeitmeister.
There is no Indigo version for mac.
So the need for a mac exporter is equal zero.
I would suggest you to install bootcamp on osx.

There is no indigo version for mac but C4D versions for mac indeed. So you'd only need bootcamp for rendering then and not run the entire C4D in it ;)

hey david. i have to apologize for aproximating a release date i couldnt hold :)

of course you can expect a mac version of cindigo!

the thing is, that quite a few things came between cindigo and a mac release (more 1.1.x releases, continued illness and my quite bad overall medical condition). i only have access to a mac at work, and i havent been there for quite a while now. and this might last for a while, at least for the next 2 weeks.

donations wont make me release the source code, but still are appreciated ;)

i dont agree.

as of rendering under osx, i can recommend darwine. but i guess it will still be faster under bootcamp.

You could even use darwine to render it while on OSX. I bet donations are well deserved wether a mac version is released or not...

@tungee:
I am using a Mac at home and at work, and for that I bought Cinema 4D.
Bootcamp, Darwine, Parallels or Crossover allow me to use Indigo on my Mac, but not the PC-exporter-script Cindigo, because I don't own a PC-release of Cinema 4D.
Only with R11 MAXON decided to give up this differentiation offers it for both platforms.
But I am using R10.5 Mac-version, and so I can't use any exporter script with C4D.

@fused:
I didn't know about your health situation and hope you'll be well as soon as possible again!
Good news that your work an the Mac-version of Cindigo is not been forgotten.
Maybe the donations might help you getting independant from the Mac only at your work. ;-)

In the meantime:
Could you point me a link to the last Cindigo-version compiled for the Mac? I just want to be able to do anything on my machines with Indigo and C4D. :-)

actually, i get fast speed out of indigo through darwine than bootcamp into windows (have the same experiance with wine & indigo on my desktop compared to xp).

if its getting difficult to keep up with id be willing to try and help.

@eman7613:
I am currently using Crossover (http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxmac/); is Darwine faster?
Where can I download an actual release of Darwine, what do I have to make it work? Is it complex for a person who don't understand anything of compiling etc.?

http://www.kronenberg.org/darwine/
just download and install. requires x11 to be installed. after intalling you can launch windows .exe files just by double clicking them.

Darwine is running, but I don't see any interface-buttons like the tone-mapping-settings etc., and some dialogues are missing like "stop render" etc.
I loaded the Win32-version of indigo 1.0.9, with the latest Crossover-Demo everything is correctly displayed.

What am I doing wrong?
Do I have to install additional modules with TRIX? And if yes, which ones do I need only to run indigo properly?

Hey Zeitmeister,
The License problem Mac vs PC totally sucks, I know....
But to offer you a possibility to work with the actual Indigo & Cindigo combination, how about using new C4D 11 Demo with 42 Days of full usage (saving & exporting).

I haven't tried it jet, just had played around with the siggraph Demo some weeks ago.
