Pure GPU rendering in the Cinema 4D Plugin

Post by Decade » Mon Apr 25, 2016 9:13 pm

Firstly, congratulations on the V4 !
I'm a little confused about the Pure GPU rendering in the Cinema 4D plugin version (Not the standalone).
When I installed the V4 windows version, I was offered to install the Cinema 4D plugin, which has a 3.X number.
Inside, there is an option for GPU rendering but is this the new Pure GPU rendering mode, or the old Open CL/ Cuda slight acceleration ?
When I installed the mac version, I wasn't offered the plugin.
Is the Pure GPU mode in the plugin yet & if so in both mac & windows or just windows ?

Thanks for your help.

It's curious that from within cinema plugin the problems I have on standalone doesn't show up. The GPU isn't used above 40% though, it seems as if the previous gpu is being used.

It seems to be indeed the case as normal maps are working...

Thanks, I think you're right.
I guess I can setup in Cinema then render in standalone for now.

Well it is the "old" GPU rendering inside the plug. AKA you can use 1 GPU.
But export the scene to Indigo App and render there. + you got plenty of features there too.
