Coating thikness

Post by Nikolaj Knudsen » Thu Nov 19, 2015 8:01 pm

Hey all

I'm having a little trouble with the thickness settings in the coating material (c4d exporter)
when using a texture. I can't get lower than 0.001 converting to 1000µm. I need to get below 1µm. Have I missed anything?

Cindigo 3.8.26.2

cheers Nik

Yeah, I had the same problem before. Fixed it by using xpresso, though. Killing a fly with a hammer, I guess...

Hey Nikolaj,

afaik your gamma for this texture channel should be @ 1.0.
Also the A value at 0 and C value too, since the thickness gets linear controlled only by the B value!

You CAN enter a value below 0.001 in C4D, it get set to 0 in the display, but exported correctly.
(btw: this is a C4D limitation)

Thanks guys :)

@thesquirell
I will try that expresso thing out.

@Zom-B
Thanks for clearing the numbers out in the right direction. Funny thing though, the A and C values were a result of playing around in Indigo. The thin layer color changed altering A and C..

cheers Nik
