Re: Mysterious happenings
Reinhard kinda ruins the dynamics in your image. Experienced users usually use linear or camera. For example the four afgapan camera films gives you low contrast images that you can export as 16 bit tiffs and edit further in Photoshop.

Hi
In the last image (Indigo 3.8.26) after 15 min of rendering artifacts not seen.

Re: Mysterious happenings
I think reinhard gets a bad rap, actually. if you use it right it gives you control over the full tonal range of the render and is especially important for retaining shadow and highlight detail. seeing a "long" tonal range like that throws people off cause it tends to look flat, but starting from there and then controlling the contrast and density in photoshop allows you to retain very smooth transitions between tones, especially for specular highlights and deep shadows. just my off-topic 2 cents...Oscar J wrote:Reinhard kinda ruins the dynamics in your image. Re: Mysterious happenings
I'd have to agree, for my ArchViz almost all my renders get colour and tone adjustments in PS after the fact. I have found Reinhard to be a good starting point for this on many occasions.

Re: Mysterious happenings
I guess I just don't like Indigo doing that stuff for me automatically, I prefer a more photographic, realistic raw output and then I'll recover stuff in PS.
But very good points, Fakeshamus.

Unfortunately it's artifact random and happens with the version of Indigo 3.8.26.Zom-B wrote:Have you read and understood my comment regarding this artifacts??!contegufo wrote:In the last image (Indigo 3.8.26) after 15 min of rendering artifacts not seen.

I adjusted parameters phong IOR = 1 Exponent = 0 but has changed little.
The immgine below are outputs with tone mapping Agfapan-apx-400cd (iso = 200), later in Photoshop adjusted levels and unsharp mask = 30 preserving the lights.
