Tint of the texture in C4D. Mistake or not.
I have some texture of the leaf. I need to change its tone. For example, with the RGB (250,127,127). I do this in three ways, and get different results. Textures from right to left:
1. Main texture.
2. Mixed by Blend material with RGB (250,127,127).
3. Mixed through the layers of C4D.
4. Mixed through the layers of Photoshop.
I especially do not like the difference between the third and fourth textures. Is that correct? Or is it a bug in Indigo?
regards..

I confirm. the problem exists.
Re: Tint of the texture in C4D. Mistake or not.
If the fourth one is a photoshop mix of the main texture with a red color (250,127,127 is red), it should not be greener than the main texture.wlf_alex wrote:I have some texture of the leaf. Also, Indigo mixes in linear space while photoshop mixes in gamma (srgb) space. Hence the result which are necessarily different.
I do not know for C4D

Example textures are from right to left. That is the right texture is a major, but the left is fixed in PS.galinette wrote:If the fourth one is a photoshop mix of the main texture with a red color (250,127,127 is red), it should not be greener than the main texture.wlf_alex wrote:I have some texture of the leaf. Ooops...wlf_alex wrote:Example textures are from right to left. That is the right texture is a major, but the left is fixed in PS.
Hence the linear vs gamma issue remains. You may try to do the blend in 32-bit/channel mode under photoshop, and convert to 8bit/channel at the end (using exposure and gamma mode, with exposure=0 and gamma=1). In that case, photoshop does linear-space blends, which should match indigo behavior

Re: Tint of the texture in C4D. Mistake or not.
I think that this is a problem converting materials. In C4D all three versions of this material have the same effect. But Indigo gives different results, perhaps because the Indigo does not support all the shaders C4D. But then where do I find out exactly which shader support Indigo? And what a way to correctly to paint the texture in Cindigo?

Could you upload the pigs for this scene?

Cindigo bakes each C4D Shader, you can doublecheck that resulting texture, it gets saved in the same folder where you export your IGS to do a external rendering using Indigo GUI version.wlf_alex wrote:But then where do I find out exactly which shader support Indigo? If you could also upload the c4d file we can have a look at it too!

Thanks for the reply, Zom-B ! I added C4D file in the first post.

Your red materials has set brightness to 80 in the diffuse tab.wlf_alex wrote:Thanks for the reply, Zom-B ! I added C4D file in the first post.
By that you reduce your 250, 127, 127 material to 200, 102, 102.
Here the render after "fixing" that: BTW: for such materials turn on "Step Blend" Checkbox for faster rendering
Using that Indigo clamps pixel information to full black or full white, creating a "sharp" blend mask.

And this is what I got after the change suggested by zom-b and doing the photoshop blend in linear colorspace instead of gamma colorspace:

You can see the strong effect of blending with different colorspaces by downloading this PS file , and going to Image>Mode>32bit/channel, and choose "Don't merge". If you then merge and go back to 8bit mode, by using "Local Adaptation" with Exposure=0 and Gamma=1, you get exactly the same results as Indigo. Technical explanations are possible if some are interested....Etienne

Re: Tint of the texture in C4D. Mistake or not.
Thanks a lot Zom-B and galinette ! Anyway but I learned a lot for myself. But the target is the material on the left leaf. But now I understand that this is only possible through the baking. Some question: Glare plans in the future full support for Shaders of C4D ?
Many thanks guys !

Re: Tint of the texture in C4D. Mistake or not.
I hope there will be more ISL based shaders, that allow easy access to effects like fresnel/falloff etc. but full C4D Shader support is rather unlikely as fas as I know.wlf_alex wrote:Some question: Clare plans in the future full support for Shaders of C4D ?
I have to admit that don't miss many C4D Shaders, but the few I do can be "replicated" as ISL Shaders
(Sadly Ambient Occlusion isnt atm -.-' )
