Cindigo Material Requests

Post by zeitmeister » Thu Apr 14, 2011 10:13 pm

Hi,
I would like to have two more cindigo material presets:

- null material
- background material

Over and over again I am not sure how to set up a correct IBL material as background material … having this as a preset material inside C4D / Cindigo would make things a lot easier.

Thank you in advance!
Cheers, David

hi,
if I am not mistaken is a null material present in cindigo.
A small tutorial on the use of Ibl material in cindigo I would also be very interested. If it is in cindigo at all possible.

F*ck, you're right … I need glasses.

A background IBL material tutorial is posted somewhere; but I would like to have it as a preset … that saves time and hustle.

I know, but is not very helpful for cindigo. I'd be interested if it is possible directly in the cindigo hdr ibl material to automatically activate the upfront for such harsh shadows from the sunlight.

Hi David,

I will probably change the way the background material works to how it used to work before(just a file selctor for selecting the image). The whole IBL workflow in cindigo is currently a bit... suboptimal.

But since this would make it impossible to use all features I will leave the current way it in there and make it optional.

I'll also add rotation.

To set up IBL with the current cindigo you need to do this:

1) make a new material, type Diffuse ("Matt" in the german translation, iirc)
2) enable emission channel, set texture you want to use (also maybe, set albedo to pure black, since there was an issue in some Indigo version if albedo was not black)
3) apply that material to the renderer settings in the Environment tab

I think rotation is currently not possible.

Sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean exactly :)
Feel free to drop me a PM in you preferred language ;)

Sure!

You just need a hdr image with a very bright spot in it (like a sun).

This statement is really very helpful. One can read everything in the other post. A little guide would be really helpful.

@fused:
Thank you; setting the albedo to black was the key … I read around the forum that someone set it to pure grey; neutral … but I'm not sure.

I'm really looking forward to the improved background object option!

… and for the mac animation export support, too.
I tried a lot with Automator and command-line-options but failed. :( :D
Cheers, David
