No way that was me, I have this awfull habit to write posts in a hurry only to edit them massively for I was incomplete or incorrect (:delle wrote:[EDIT] Sorry I was late....delle wrote:Can you please post the result Image (sort of).. Thank you[...]This works [...]
EDIT: or I would quintuple-post. Or so (;
Re: Indigo Renderer 3.2.3
Hi guys!
..waiting for a 3.2.5 version which I can use with my quadro card, I reverted back to 3.2.3 version.
While teaching to my students I experienced a strange bug: when I introduce an exit portal in my scene, Indigo doesn't update an image at all. The rendering bar on the bottom-left runs, but s/px and s/sec remain stuck at 0.
Exiting Indigo seems a problem too, even after having pressed the stop button.
Same scene renders just fine on some other pcs, and bad as in my case on some others. Very strange.
Can it be a GPU issue? I'm having trouble with a QUADRO4000, but same problem also with a GeForce GT 520M. I attach my scene for testing (sketchup7 format)

Re: Indigo Renderer 3.2.3
Exit Portals aren't supported for pure PT mode, as used in GPU rendering.Pibuz wrote:Can it be a GPU issue? I'm having trouble with a QUADRO4000, but same problem also with a GeForce GTS 250M.
But the scene should render anyway, but with firefly kind of light distribution...
Re: Indigo Renderer 3.2.3
Hi ZomB!
I know about the fact that PT and GPU acceleration aren't (let's say) FULLY supported, so I tried using MLT method, since I knew it worked.
But still, no render is calculated: the image stays black (it shows what I described before).
I suspect it's some kind of conflict between some video cards (not GPU-accelerated algorithm) and Exit Portals. Do you know what I mean?

Re: Indigo Renderer 3.2.3
I had similar Issues with my ooooold ATI 4870 Card that only supports OpenCL v1.
Pure Black image and 0 samples... This issue was fixed in last version for me.
btw: PT + BiDir works fine with Exit Portals too ;)

Re: Indigo Renderer 3.2.3
Zom-B's right on the money: exit portals are basically incompatible with single-directional path tracing at the moment.
Re: Indigo Renderer 3.2.3
I repeat: the render doesn't start even if I turn off the GPU acc support and select a bidirectional method. Black screen, samples thrown, no crash but no image calculated..
In the attached scene test, I applied an Exit Portal only to ONE of the openings (top left window): sun and sky should come through from that and not from the others. At least, this happened in previous versions :)

Re: Indigo Renderer 3.2.3
Hi Pibuz, I sent you a message on GTalk about the EP covering the front opening... I think EPs need to cover all exits to the sky if you use them.
Re: Indigo Renderer 3.2.3
No they don't: some of my students only covered 2 or three windows out of the eight-ten of their models and the sun entered only through the EPd ones. If you want, I can send you some files tomorrow.
Re: Indigo Renderer 3.2.3
I meant, if you want any light to come through them, and I think this might affect light reaching the camera too. Exit portals work fine in all the other scenes we have
Re: Indigo Renderer 3.2.3
Aha! The new sky model seems not to be working with exit portals; this is a top priority bug.
Pibuz, in your test scene if I switch back to the original sky model it renders fine.

Re: Indigo Renderer 3.2.3
Good work thom!
..btw, same scene (which means same sky model too) renders fine on other pcs... How do you explain that?

Re: Indigo Renderer 3.2.3
Strange Behaviour
In any case, it'll be fixed ASAP. We've also rebuilt the GPU kernels so it should work again with Quadro in the next release.
