Hopefully there will still be a free version.lycium wrote:We've been doing some thinking + researching about the pricing, and will announce it shortly!
Indigo Renderer 3.0 preview video

Re: Indigo Renderer 3.0 preview video
They're not going to scrap the demo version, me thinks.
A wish for 3.X: material ID output etc. Would come in extremely handy.
Question: will one's entire scene be kept in the GPU's memory?

Re: Indigo Renderer 3.0 preview video
Correct, the free version will stay with the current limitations.Stinkie wrote:They're not going to scrap the demo version, me thinks.
That is in 3.0. Currently you cannot define a colour for a material, tho (but we might add that). They are "random".Stinkie wrote:A wish for 3.X: material ID output etc. Would come in extremely handy.
Yes.Stinkie wrote:Question: will one's entire scene be kept in the GPU's memory?

To clarify further: only the scene geometry, not textures etc.fused wrote:Yes.Stinkie wrote:Question: will one's entire scene be kept in the GPU's memory?
We kinda forgot to publish the pricing information on Friday It's basically decided, but I reckon Nick gets the final call on putting this out

Thanks, I see how this could have easily been misunderstoodlycium wrote:To clarify further: only the scene geometry, not textures etc.

Hm? But in the video, they were changing the color of the material interactively. That is in 3.0. Currently you cannot define a colour for a material, tho (but we might add that). They are "random".

We were talking about a material ID output.Stinkie wrote:A wish for 3.X: material ID output etc. Would come in extremely handy.
Re: Indigo Renderer 3.0 preview video
OK, so forgive me. My technical knowledge is pretty limited. Would GPU support have a chance of working on a radeon 4250?
Re: Indigo Renderer 3.0 preview video
Nope, it lacks shared memory.
Re: Indigo Renderer 3.0 preview video
This is still an awesome release! Glare rocks!lycium wrote:Nope, it lacks shared memory.
Re: Indigo Renderer 3.0 preview video
Has anybody tested how much speedup there is with GPU?
Maybe with some fogy dusty roome scene.

Re: Indigo Renderer 3.0 preview video
My Nvidia gtx560 adds roughly as much as my 2600k. I first though that it would be adding 2x as much, but I was comparing different modes.Meelis wrote:Has anybody tested how much speedup there is with GPU?

Re: Indigo Renderer 3.0 preview video
I'm sad to report that the new release doesn't work with GPU enabled on my nVidia GTX480.
All drivers updated properly: CUDA 4.0 and latest drivers for the video card.
Still get a C++ runtime error when the image has to be updated.
